Democrats comparing the Capitol Protests to the horrors of 9/11/01 and accusing patriotic Americans of being threats and terrorists is pathetic, dangerous and belies their long patronage to terrorist enemies of our country.  They conveniently forget that the Capitol was attacked by the Marxist Weather Underground in 1971 and in 1954 by a Puerto Rican Revolutionary group, pre-curser to the Armed Forces for National Liberation (“FALN”).

I was an eye witness to the carnage of 9/11, the murder of cousin Steve Schlag and 3,000 other innocent souls. January 6 was nothing like those meticulously planned attacks on civilians when hundreds jumped or fell from 1,000 feet rather than burning alive.  Not even close.

Oscar Lopez Rivera led the Armed Forces for National Liberation of Puerto Rico in the 1970s.  The group carried out numerous terror activities in the U.S., including the bombing of Fraunces Tavern in New York which killed four.  One was the father of our guest, Joseph Connor, the author of the book “Shattered Lives.” Rivera was sentenced to a total of 70 years in federal prison, but President Obama let him out on his last day in office, claiming he was merely a political prisoner, not a terrorist.  Another leader, William Morales, escaped prison and is now being protected in Cuba. To avenge his father’s death, Connor continues to push his extradition back to the U.S.

They sought safety on the shores of Cuba from American justice.

Now Joe Connor wants them back.

“Get these guys back, as a starting point for any further opening up of Cuba,” Connor insists.

CUBA DEAL ROLLBACK: TRUMP SAYS HE’S NIXING OBAMA’S ‘ONE-SIDED’ PACT

An estimated 70 fugitives, including terrorists, murderers, bank robbers and hijackers, sought refuge in Cuba and remain protected to this day by the government. The notorious F.A.L.N. Puerto Rican terrorist group bomb maker Willie Morales, and convicted New Jersey State Trooper killer Joanne Chesimard, are among the most infamous who have enjoyed the benefits of decades of Cuban protection and generosity.

Connor, whose father was killed in a New York City F.A.L.N. terrorist bombing, says President Trump needs to add the return of the fugitives to any new agreement with the President Raul Castro’s regime.

Morales, whose hands were blown off when a bomb accidently exploded, escaped from jail and found haven in Cuba in 1988. He is on the F.B.I.’s Most Wanted List and charged with “Unlawful flight to avoid prosecution/escape.”

OPINION: MY FATHER’S KILLER ROAMS FREE IN CUBA, HARBORED BY MR. OBAMA’S NEW FRIENDS

Joanne Chesimard, a member of the extremist Black Liberation Army, was convicted of murder in 1977 and received political asylum in Cuba in 1984. She is also on the F.B.I’s Most Wanted Terrorist List, wanted for “act of terrorism, domestic terrorism and unlawful flight to avoid confinement/murder.”

Joe’s father, Frank, was killed in the terrorist bombing of Fraunces Tavern, the historic restaurant and museum in Lower Manhattan that served as a headquarters for George Washington and where on December 4th,1783, he bid farewell to his troops. The attack, carried out by the F.A.L.N., killed four people and wounded 44 on January 24, 1975.  Frank Connor was only 33 years old, Joe was 9. The attack was one of more than 100 bombings in the United States that the F.A.L.N. claimed responsibility for during a wave of terror in the 1970s and 80s. Connor has since dedicated his life to fighting for justice for his father and other victims of terrorism.

FBI Most Wanted poster of Willie Morales, a Puerto Rican terrorist group bomb maker who fled to Cuba.  (FBI)

When President Trump announced the rolling back of some of his predecessor’s Cuban policies on June 16th, he called on the Castro regime to return the fugitives.

“To the Cuban government, I say, put an end to the abuse of dissidents, release the political prisoners, stop jailing innocent people, open yourselves to political and economic freedoms, return the fugitives from American justice, including the return of the cop killer Joanne Chesimard.”

REMOVING CUBA FROM US TERROR LIST IS PERSONAL, PAINFUL FOR SOME

Connor says he is “encouraged” by the president naming Chesimard and raising the issue, but says: “I wish he would mention Morales’ name, he is no less a terrorist than Chesimard.”

When President Obama announced the new U.S. Cuban policy in 2014, and restored diplomatic ties with the hardline Communist island nation, the State Department said that it would “discuss” the issue of the fugitives with the Castro government. But the status of the wanted criminals was not made a part of the agreement, which Connor says is a glaring and insulting oversight.

“It was a capitulation by the Obama administration, they didn’t get anything in return,” Connor said. “As a matter of fact, they took Cuba off the state sponsor of terror list, and that is one of the points I think Mr. Trump needs to add Cuba back to the state sponsor of terror list, because clearly they are sponsoring terrorists by having them in their country and that would be a big economic hit to Cuba.”

Connor said that he doesn’t think officials in the Obama administration “were trying to get them back, I don’t think they had any intention of getting them back. The only way to get people back is having leverage. Obama gave away all of our leverage.”

He said the U.S. now has leverage, and can correct the oversight that has left several dozens of wanted criminals living without consequence, just 90 miles from our shores.

Shattered Lives; Overcoming the Fraunces Tavern Terror

by Jeff IngberJoe Connor

Shattered Lives begins by taking the reader into the graphic horror of major terror attacks, the lives of victims and their families, the aftermath of their shattered lives and even the terrorists themselves, providing context for their deeds.

On January 24, 1975, six young businessmen were enjoying lunch in lower Manhattan’s historic Fraunces Tavern when a bomb placed inside the restaurant exploded, tearing throughout the building. It had been planted by a group claiming support for Puerto Rican independence known as the FALN,” the most active domestic terrorist organization in American history. Among those businessmen were two sons of immigrants and only children – Frank Connor, with a wife and two young boys, and Alex Berger, whose wife was six months pregnant. Both were murdered, along with two other men, while dozens were injured, some horrifically.

Shattered Lives, co-authored by Jeff Ingber and Joe Connor, Frank Connor’s son, chronicles the origins of the Puerto Rican independence movement, its transformation into a Cuban-led Marxist cause, the FALN’s decade-long reign of murder and destruction that also maimed four NYPD officers, the hunt for the terrorists directed by a group of dedicated FBI agents, the inexplicable escape from prison by the FALN’s chief bombmaker who eventually received asylum in Cuba, and the political maneuvering at the highest levels of federal government to grant clemency to a dozen FALN members, including its leader.

Through extensive, exclusive interviews with survivors and family, Shattered Lives further tells of the devastating impact of the Fraunces Tavern bombing on the Connor and Berger families as well as on its many other victims, which united them in their struggle to move forward while seeking justice for their loved ones.

Shattered Lives is now available on Amazon.

On April 7, Steve Malzberg and Joe introduced Shattered Lives on WMAL in Washington.

We discussed the origins of this book to the night before 9/11/01, the many incredible families shattered by the Fraunces bombing, Fraunces’ connection to George Washington and the shocking photos of who appears to be terror leader and two time presidential clemency recipient Oscar Lopez Rivera taken outside of Fraunces only minutes after the attack.

Our father, Frank Connor’s life was too valuable to be exploited by cheap politicians. This story brings justice to his life and those of other terror victims who deserved better.

Hope you listen to Steve and my talk and get something out of the book.

Brian Kilmeade Radio Show;  Audio

Shattered Lives is getting great reviews for bringing the truth about these released terrorists and the craven politicians who use terror victims lives and deaths for their political gain.

  • Why Fraunces? Why Frank Connor?
  • Overcoming terror,
  • Clinton / Obama / Holder clemency to the FALN,
  • Disgraceful honor for Oscar Lopez Rivera at Puerto Rican Day Parade,
  • Return terrorists from Cuba including William Morales and Joanne Chesimard,

Frank Connor, Alex Berger, Jim Gezork, Charles Steinberg, Harold Sherbourne, Charlie Murray, Steve Schlag and their families deserved better.

If this injustice could happen to our families, it could happen to any family.

Additionally on Fox & Friends First Todd Piro and Joe dug into the politics of Gina Haspel’s nomination as CIA Director. Again, elected officials putting politics over the safety of America.

On January 24, 1975, the terrorist group Puerto Rican Armed Forces for National Liberation (FALN) detonated a devastating bomb at the Fraunces Tavern in New York City, an act of terror that took four lives.

Among those killed was Frank Connor, father of co-author Joseph Connor. In Shattered Lives, Connor and Jeff Ingber trace the origins of the Puerto Rican independence movement and its radicalization into a Marxist, Cuban-inspired terrorist organization. The FALN’s legacy of violence and destruction made it the most active terrorist group in American history.

Connor recounts the deceit and political maneuvering entwined in the Clinton and Obama Administrations that resulted in clemency for FALN terrorists. Shattered Lives is dedicated to the true victims of political double-dealing: the law enforcement professionals on the front lines and the victims’ families.

Joseph Connor is an advocate on anti-terrorism and national security matters. His articles have appeared in numerous publications, and he is a regular guest on local and nationally syndicated TV and radio programs.

Fraunces Anniversary; our fight for justice continues

FALN Terrorists Murdered My Father and Have Not Seen Justice | National Review:

https://www.nationalreview.com/2019/01/faln-terrorist-bombing-new-york-city-1975/

Bill Clinton and Barack Obama gave some clemency; the chief bomb-maker escaped to Cuba.

Forty-four years ago today, terrorists shattered my family. Sadly, the war against these individuals and their benefactors continues to this day.

My father, 33-year-old Frank Connor, and three other innocent men were murdered, while scores were injured and maimed, on Jan. 24, 1975, when the Marxist Puerto Rican terrorist group Armed Forces for National Liberation (“FALN”) blew up New York’s historicFraunces Tavern during a crowded lunchtime. The FALN appointed themselves my father’s judge, jury, and executioner, profiling, targeting, and savagely murdering so-called “reactionary corporate executives.” The Connor family had planned to celebrate my ninth and my brother’s 11th birthday that very night.

Fraunces Tavern was targeted by the FALN — who paid lip service to independence but in reality sought to impose a Cuban-style socialist regime in Puerto Rico — for its proximity to Wall Street and for its storied reputation as the birthplace of American liberty. Alexander Hamilton and the Sons of Liberty met there. General George Washington bade farewell to his officers at Fraunces after the Revolutionary War.

Between 1974 and 1983, the FALN claimed responsibility for over 130 bombings in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Though never prosecuted specifically for the Fraunces bombing, the unrepentant terrorists served only 18 years of prison sentences ranging from 55 to 70 years. As Hillary Clinton geared up for her 2000 New York Senate run and was looking to connect with New York’s Hispanic community, Bill Clinton granted clemency to the FALN, a blatant political gesture orchestrated by then–deputy attorney general Eric Holder. One, leader Oscar Lopez Rivera, was so dedicated to his cause and his comrades that he refused the 1999 Clinton clemency, although in 2017 he accepted an unprecedented second presidential clemency from Barack Obama. It was one of Obama’s last acts as president.

Adding to the injustice were New York City politicians’ failed attempt in 2017 to bestow a “Freedom Hero” award to the Marxist Lopez, and Hamilton director Lin-Manuel Miranda’s honoring Lopez despite the fact that Fraunces Tavern was frequented by the real Hamilton. It sickened me to watch the politicians cozy up to Miranda in Puerto Rico last week while 800,000 federal employees remained unpaid.

William Morales, chief FALN bomb-maker, was not offered Clinton or Obama clemency. Morales likely built the deadly devices used at Fraunces and the Mobil Oil building, where, in August 1977, 26-year-old Charles Steinberg was horrendously murdered. On July 12, 1978, which would have been my dad’s 37th birthday, Morales blew off part of his face and nine of his fingers when a bomb he was crafting exploded in his Queens bomb factory. The apartment contained explosives, incendiary mixtures, tools, FALN communiqués, and even the copy machine used to make the FALN communiqués, including the Jan. 24, 1975, communiqué found after the Fraunces bombing.

Morales was captured, tried, convicted, and sentenced in 1979 to up to 99 years in prison but escaped from Bellevue prison hospital with the assistance of other radicals who called themselves the Revolutionary Armed Task Force. During the state trial, Morales boasted: “No jail is going to hold me forever. They can put 1,000 of us in jail. They are not going to hold us forever. That’s what I have to say.”

Through a FALN investigation run by the Chicago Terrorist Task Force, Morales was located in Puebla, Mexico, in 1983. When the Mexican police closed in, he and an accomplice killed a Mexican police officer. Morales was arrested, charged with being an accessory to murder, and imprisoned in Mexico.

In 1988, ignoring President Reagan’s extradition demands, the sympathetic Mexican government allowed Morales to travel to Cuba, where he remains a guest of the regime along with scores of murderous and felonious fugitives such as Victor Gerena and Black Liberation Army cop killer Joanne Chesimard (Assata Shakur).

Despite Cuba’s sponsoring of terrorists, the Obama administration removed Cuba from the State Sponsor of Terror list. On July 1, 2015, President Obama announced the establishment of formal relations with Cuba before actually visiting the Marxist state in March 2016. As Obama announced his Cuba visit, I immediately began receiving calls, texts, and emails from reporters who knew our family’s longstanding fight for justice. Ironically, I answered those requests from Joint Base Guantanamo, Cuba. You see, I am one of the 9/11 family members fortunate enough to observe the pretrial hearings at GTMO — at the invitation of my cousin Jean Schlag Nebbia, whose brother, our father’s godson Steve Schlag, was murdered on 9/11 as I witnessed the attacks only minutes after commuting through the World Trade Center.

I couldn’t help but lament the difference in the handling of the murders of Steve and my dad. For Steven, we went to war. For my dad, we released his murderers.

Here I was at a U.S. military base in Cuba observing Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and the other high-value detainees in the military tribunal with the death penalty at stake, while simultaneously our president planned a “triumphant” visit to Cuba, a country that supports our father’s murderers. Less than a year later Obama would offer that second clemency to Lopez Rivera, a terrorist I had faced at his 2011 parole hearing much like facing KSM and the others at GTMO.

Our family has fought for Morales’s extradition to the U.S. for decades. It’s been a frustrating struggle, although we were encouraged to see that in 2018, the House of Representatives issued Resolution 664 calling for the immediate extradition or rendering to the United States of convicted felons William Morales, Joanne Chesimard, and all other fugitives from justice who are receiving safe harbor in Cuba in order to escape prosecution or confinement for criminal offenses committed in the United States.”

If my dad’s murderers can escape punishment, this kind of injustice can happen to any American family. I urge Americans to request that their representatives, their senators, and President Trump join with us in demanding the return of these terrorists — and not pander to terrorists and their handlers in Cuba as Clinton and Obama did. It is time for President Trump to secure the return of these killers under the promise of heavy economic sanctions on Cuba, as he has done to the rogue regimes in Iran and North Korea, and to return Cuba to the State Sponsor of Terror list. We are in an ongoing war on terrorists. Let’s fight them all.

My father’s horrific death has haunted my family for 44 years. I promised my mom that we would get Morales back during her lifetime. She’ll be 81 soon. Let’s get this done.

Deliver Justice to All

Congratulations to Mr. Trump, the US military and intelligence communities for tracking and killing the barbaric ISIS leader al Baghdadi, further wounding the califate and reaffirming America’s leadership in the war against terrorists.  As President Trump said, “These savage monsters will not escape their fate, and they will not escape the final judgment of God.”

On 9/11/01, having just commuted through the World Trade Center I eye witnessed the savagery of Islamic terrorism that murdered cousin Steve Schlag among the 3,000 innocent victims.  Incredibly, our family also experienced murder by domestic terrorists a generation before.

Time to deliver American Justice to all these savage terrorist monsters, both Islamic and domestic.

The United States’ war on terrorists is not new, nor is it limited to Islamists’ attacks.  The US has been hit by home grown terrorists for decades including the January 24, 1975 lunchtime bombing of Fraunces Tavern in lower Manhattan.  My 33 year old father Frank Connor, cousin Steve Schlag’s godfather, was one of four innocent men murdered in cold blood that day by the Marxist Puerto Rican Separatist Terrorists, Armed Forces for National Liberation (FALN).  The FALN waged a decades long war against the United States from 1974 – 1983 which included some 130 bombings and six murders.

Incredibly FALN and other convicted terrorists from that era remain at large, out of the hands of American justice.  Most notably fugitives, FALN bombmaker William Morales and Black Liberation Army, cop killer Joanne Chesimard (aka Assata Shakur) remain guests of Marxist Cuba.

Chesimard was convicted of murdering New Jersey State Trooper Werner Foerster in 1973.  She escaped from a Clinton, New Jersey prison and has been a guest of communist Cuba since 1984.

As chief bomb-maker, Morales most certainly built the sinister device that killed my father the very day our family was set to celebrate my 9th and my brother’s 11th birthday. Ironically, on what would have been my dad’s 37th birthday, July 12, 1978, Morales blew the fingers off of both his hands and part of his face when a bomb he was crafting exploded in his bomb factory in Queens New York.

Morales was captured, tried and convicted in federal and New York state courts and sentenced in 1979 to up to 99 years in prison, but escaped from Bellevue prison hospital with, like Chesimard, the assistance of other radicals.  During the state trial, Morales boasted, “No jail is going to hold me forever.

Morales was arrested and charged with being an accessory to murder.

Despite the Reagan administration’s request for extradition, the sympathetic Mexican government sent him to Cuba in 1988, where like Chesimard, he remains; both on the FBI’s most wanted list.

Between 1981 and 1983, 16 core members of the FALN and Los Macheteros, a related group, were arrested, tried, convicted and sentenced to appropriately long and well-deserved prison terms.

Despite my regular communications with the Clinton departments of State and Justice beginning in the early 1990s, demanding the return of Morales, in 1999 President Clinton with the cover of then-Deputy Attorney General Eric Holder, infamously granted clemency to 16 unrepentant FALN and Machetero comrades.

Obama followed during his last days in office with his unprecedented second clemency to FALN leader Oscar Lopez Rivera who refused the 1999 Clinton clemency grant.  Since his release in 2017, the terror leader Lopez has been treated as a darling by the left, travelling as a VIP to countries like Cuba and Venezuela and being offered a “Freedom Hero” award by New York politicians at the 2017 Puerto Rican Day Parade.

Again this year, House and Senate Members proposed resolutions calling for Morales and Chesimard’s’ extradition from Cuba.  I call on President Trump to join with Congress and our family in demanding and securing the return of Morales, Chesimard and all terrorists to face justice!

Or perhaps it’s time for the United States to deliver swift and decisive justice to Morales, Chesimard and the others as we did to bin Laden, Khadafy and now al Baghdadi.

As the president said, “Baghdadi’s demise demonstrates America’s relentless pursuit of terrorist leaders and our commitment to the enduring and total defeat of ISIS and other terrorist organizations…Terrorists who oppress and murder innocent people should never sleep soundly, knowing that we will completely destroy them.”

As American hero Todd Beamer urged his fellow Flight 93 passengers on 9/11,

“Let’s roll!”

My father Frank Connor was murdered by the terrorists from whom the organization (not the truism), Black Lives Matter (BLM) descends.

Morales / Shakur Student Center at CCNY 2013

On January 24, 1975, the Marxist Puerto Rican terrorist group Armed Forces for National Liberation (“FALN”) blew up New York’s historic Fraunces Tavern during a crowded lunchtime. The FALN appointed themselves my 33 year old father’s judge, jury, and executioner, profiling, targeting, and savagely murdering so-called “reactionary corporate executives.” The Connor family had planned to celebrate my 9th and my brother’s 11th birthday that very night.

Fraunces was targeted by the FALN — who, like BLM for the US, sought to impose a Cuban-style socialist regime in Puerto Rico — for its proximity to Wall Street and for its history as the birthplace of American liberty.  Alexander Hamilton and the Sons of Liberty met there. General George Washington bade farewell to his officers at Fraunces after the Revolutionary War.

Links between these FALN terrorists and today’s BLM Organization include BLM fundraiser Susan Rosenberg, Marxist Cuba and then VP Joe Biden.

As retired FBI agent Rick Hahn puts it,

“Susan Rosenberg was a member of the May 19 Communist Organization, a splinter group supporting the more well known, Weather Underground who bombed, trained and encouraged select minorities to engage in terrorism.  These included the FALN (who the Weather Underground materially helped) and a group of thugs and radical females known as “The Family” or the “Revolutionary Armed Task Force.”

Rosenberg’s Family engaged in a series of terrorist prison escapes and armored car robberies:

William Morales, chief FALN bomb-maker, likely built the deadly devices used to murder my father at Fraunces.  On July 12, 1978, which would have been my dad’s 37th birthday, Morales blew off part of his face and nine of his fingers when a bomb he was crafting exploded in his Queens, NY bomb factory. The apartment contained explosives, incendiary mixtures, tools, FALN communiqués, and even the copy machine used to make those communiqués, including the January 24, 1975, communiqué found after the Fraunces bombing.

Morales was captured, tried, convicted, and sentenced in 1979 to up to 99 years in prison  but was broken out of Bellevue hospital prison by The Family.

Morales was located by the FBI in Puebla, Mexico, in 1983. When the Mexican police closed in, he and an accomplice killed a Mexican police officer. Morales was arrested, charged with being an accessory to murder, and imprisoned in Mexico.

In 1988, ignoring President Reagan’s extradition demands, the sympathetic Mexican government allowed Morales to travel to Cuba, where he remains a guest of the Castro regime along with scores of murderous and felonious fugitives such as Victor Gerena and Black Liberation Army cop killer Joanne Chesimard (Assata Shakur).  According to Politico, the May 19th women also participated in Chesimard’s escape from a New Jersey Prison.

The Morales / Chesimard connections remained on US college campuses well into the 21st century.   City College of New York (CCNY) incredibly maintained the Morales / Shakur Center honoring these two Marxist terrorists until it was finally shut down in 2013.  My father went to CCNY.  CCNY honored a leader of a terrorist group who murdered one of their students!  Photos I took of a clinched fist painted on the door of the center are uncannily familiar to the BLM logo itself.

Only days after Fidel Castro’s death in 2016, BLM paid tribute to this murderous Marxist by issuing a statement, “Although no leader is free from shortcomings, we must respond to right-wing rhetoric and defend El Comandante,” Fidel vive!” (Fidel lives!)

Further, The Family pulled off one of the most infamous armored car robberies in US history at the Nanuet, NY mall where they shot and killed Brinks guard Peter Paige.  After escaping, Family members were stopped in Nyack, NY at a police roadblock.  There members leapt from the back of a U-Haul truck and fired on police, killing officers Waverly Brown and Sgt. Edward O’Grady.

Several of the terrorists escaped with the help of Susan Rosenberg and other May 19th members.  Rosenberg was subsequently caught in Cherry Hill, New Jersey with weapons and hundreds of pounds of dynamite and other explosives. Despite being sentenced to 58 years in prison, Rosenberg’s sentence was commuted by Bill Clinton in 2001 after only 16 years.

Today, Rosenberg is listed as Vice Chairwoman of Thousand Currents, the organization that handles funding for a Black Lives Matter organization.

Obama / Biden clemency to FALN terrorist

Between 1974 and 1983, the aforementioned FALN claimed responsibility for over 130 bombings in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Though never prosecuted specifically for the Fraunces bombing, the unrepentant terrorists served only 18 years of prison sentences ranging from 55 to 70 years. As Hillary Clinton geared up for her 2000 New York Senate run and was looking to connect with New York’s Hispanic community, in August 1999 Bill Clinton granted clemency to the FALN, a blatant political gesture orchestrated by then deputy attorney general Eric Holder.

One terrorist, FALN leader Oscar Lopez Rivera, was so dedicated to his cause and his comrades that he refused the 1999 Clinton clemency.   However in 2017 he accepted an unprecedented and astonishing second clemency from Obama / Biden.  Granting a second clemency to this unrepentant terrorist was one of the Obama / Biden Administration’s last acts in office.

Equally astonishing was the Left’s plan (including NY Governor Cuomo, Mayor Deblasio and many New York, and Chicago Democrats) to bestow at the 2017 Puerto Rican Day Parade a “Freedom Hero” award on this Marxist terrorist who sought to enslave Puerto Ricans in a Cuba like state.

Fortunately a group of justice minded Americans proved that We the People still have power by convincing corporates like Goya Foods, Coca Cola, Jet Blue, Telemundo, the New York Yankees and others to withdraw sponsorship.

Unlike the Marxist groups from the past who clearly identified their intentions through their names, ie. “Armed Forces, Communist Organization, Underground and Liberation Army” today’s Marxists are more, clever, sublime and covert, using names like “Black Lives Matter” and “Anti-Fascist.”  While their names are euphemistic, their intentions are clear and all too familiar.

As Bryan Burrough quoted in his book, Days of Rage connecting these Leftist terror groups, “They appointed themselves my father’s (Frank Connor) judge, jury, and executioner. He represented something they didn’t like, so they decided they had the right to kill him.”

Sound familiar?

Nancy Pelosi lied while leading the usual propagandists from the Clinton and Obama/Biden years in condemning President Trump for his executive clemency grant to Roger Stone.

Pelosi called it a “staggering act of corruption” and vowed legislation to curb the president’s ability to offer clemency in certain situations.

Adam Schiff told George Stephanopoulos, “I think anyone who cares about the rule of law in this country is nauseated by the fact that the president has commuted the sentence of someone who willfully lied to Congress…”

Failed GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney condemned Stone’s clemency as “unprecedented, historic corruption.”

Bloomberg’s opinion page even called for Mr. Trump’s impeachment.

They know not what they do.

For over two decades, our family has attacked the very issues these so-called leaders whine about. I fought presidential clemency as it was happening and then introduced a bill to Congress, written to curb clemencies made to terrorists that were so egregious that they make this commutation look like Trump fixed Roger Stone’s parking ticket.

Seems old Nancy, Adam, Mitt and the media forgot that in August 1999, the Clintons/Eric Holder offered executive clemency (commuting sentences) to sixteen members of the infamous Marxist, Puerto Rican terrorist groups Los Macheteros and Armed Forces for National Liberation (together “FALN”), who murdered my father, Frank Connor.

Pelosi and friends somehow failed to mention that in his last days in office, President Obama handed a second clemency to FALN leader Oscar Lopez Rivera, who was so dedicated to his cause and his terrorist comrades that he refused the politically-motivated 1999 Clinton clemency grant!

The FALN waged war against America with over 120 bombings between 1974 and 1985. They murdered five, including my father, and wounded 60 on January 24, 1975, during the horrific lunchtime bombing of New York’s historic Fraunces Tavern. Fraunces was specifically chosen by the FALN, as it is the cradle of liberty in the United States. It is where Alexander Hamilton and the Sons of Liberty met. Its where General George Washington bade farewell to his officers after our war for independence was won.

The FALN terrorists were arrested, tried and convicted in the early 1980s, and sentenced in Chicago to appropriate prison terms of 55 to 90 years. At sentencing, they threatened to kill Judge McMillen.

None of the terrorists even requested clemency.  So dedicated were they to their “war” against America and to creating a Cuba-like Communist Puerto Rico that none accepted the clemency, which included conditional renunciation of violence for a political cause and disassociation with other felons. None other than future AG Eric Holder engineered the politically-driven clemency to help Mrs. Clinton gain traction with Latinos for her upcoming 2000 NY Senate race. Although clemency is an individual grant, Holder and the Clintons allowed the terrorists 30 days to decide, during which they were allowed conference calls with each other between prisons!

On September 10, 1999, all but one FALN terrorist, Oscar Lopez Rivera, accepted the terms and walked out of prison, most to heroes’ welcomes. Lopez defiantly refused. As a small group of FALN victims and victims’ family members heard when we kept Lopez in prison at his 2011 parole hearing, and from his rhetoric since, Lopez refused clemency because he still believes in his cause and because his comrade, Carlos Torres (released in 2010), was not offered clemency in 1999. Lopez, who was sentenced to an additional 15 years for a violent escape plan (on top of his original 55 year term), revealed himself as an unrepentant terrorist captain, going down with the ship.

But that changed in January 2017, when Barack Obama, during his final days in office, offered an unprecedented second clemency to the unrepentant Lopez Rivera.

Since release, the terrorists have been treated as heroes by the Left and the media. Not only are they forgiven, but they’ve been treated as if they committed no crimes at all. In February 2017, Chicago named a street for Lopez, a man who terrorized Chicago.

New York Mayor DeBlasio attempted to honor Lopez with a “Freedom Hero” award at the 2017 Puerto Rican Day Parade until a small group of victims, family members and concerned citizens convinced all corporations, from Goya Foods to JetBlue and the New York Yankees, to pull their sponsorship.  Today’s heroes of the Left, Black Lives Matter (the organization, not the truism), descend from these terrorists.

The Left’s hero, Lopez, has gone on the guest speaker circuit from Cuba and Venezuela to American Universities, such as Metropolitan State University in Minnesota and Hofstra on Long Island, railing against the United States for “colonizing” Puerto Rico, attempting to justify my father’s murder.

Only months after the 1999 Clinton clemency grants, in February 2000, in an attempt to end politically-driven clemency to terrorists or others by placing conditions on the president and pardon attorney, I introduced the Pardon Attorney Reform and Integrity Act to Congress. Despite its good intentions, the conditions placed on the president made it unconstitutional and the bill went down in committee.

Let me educate you, Madam Speaker and others. The presidential power of the pardon is absolute and unchecked. The founders struggled with conferring this power, but as Alexander Hamilton put it in Federalist 74: “The reflection that the fate of a fellow-creature depended on his sole fiat would naturally inspire scrupulousness and caution; the dread of being accused of weakness or connivance, would beget equal circumspection.”

You accuse Mr. Trump of “staggering, historic” connivance by commuting a 67-year-old’s 40-month sentence for non-violent crimes while ignoring Clinton and Obama’s unleashing of sworn terrorists on the American people. As I wrote in my testimony at Eric Holder’s Senate Confirmation hearing, by releasing terrorists, Holder and the Clintons played Russian roulette with the American people they were sworn to protect.

“Russian roulette,” Mr. Schiff, Madam Speaker. That phrase should ring familiar. Please look in the mirror and see yourselves.

Are you sure you can cast the first Stone?

Why this average American is voting for President Trump

As published in Townhall.com.

Like many Americans, I periodically post political views on social media. Almost all my posts are based on my personal experiences.

Recently, many of those posts have been viciously attacked by certain “friends” based on neither facts nor experience; just emotion, usually anger.

The sad fact is many of these attacks have come from people I grew up with. People I’ve known for almost 50 years, who come from the same working-class town as me; people I went to grade school, church, Bar Mitzvahs and Confirmations with. Kids who stood next to my dad and me wearing birthday hats at our basement parties.

They don’t understand that the Democrats who dismissed our average family’s pain, who used our father’s life and his murder for their political gain, who played Russian Roulette with all American families by unleashing unrepentant terrorists on the population they swore to protect, can and will, do it to any family including theirs.

Our father Frank Connor was murdered by the Marxist, Puerto Rican terrorist group FALN in 1975.  His godson, my cousin Steve Schlag was murdered in the North Tower on 9/11/01 as I witnessed the attacks from my nearby office window having just commuted through the WTC.

Democrats led by Obama/Biden, Eric Holder, and the Clintons arrogantly dismissed our father’s life and our average American family for pure politics. In a reprehensible, politically craven push for votes for Hillary Clinton in her 2000 New York senatorial campaign, they pushed clemency on the unrepentant FALN. In 2017 they lauded FALN leader Oscar Lopez Rivera as a “Freedom Hero” after he accepted his second clemency offer from Obama/Biden.  (Lopez refused the 1999 Clinton Clemency.)

Despite providing safe-haven to terrorist fugitives including convicted FALN bomb maker William Morales and Black Liberation Army cop killer Joanne Chesimard, Obama/Biden capitulated by removing the terror state of Cuba from the State Sponsor of Terror list.

Today, Biden, as he claimed, is the Democrat Party that supports BLM and Antifa; today’s generation of the same Marxist terrorists who unleashed a reign of terror against the United States in the 1970s.

As a result of the Left’s attacks on our American Family, I was forced to become politically active including twice testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee (once at Eric Holder’s AG confirmation hearing), introducing The Pardon Attorney Reform and Integrity Act to Congress, taking a significant role in the famed Citizen’s United Hillary the Movie, shooting a commercial at Trump Tower during the 2016 presidential campaign, writing books, publishing articles, witnessing 2016 pre-trail hearings at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and appearing on various television news programs.

My social media posts are based on personal experience, not on abstract political view. Yet my so-called “friends” on the left cannot understand that there is a humanity, a tangible result to the actions we support and protest.

Our lives are not a game.  Our lives are not a social/political experiment.  Our lives are real, gifts from God, not abstract theory to be used by politicians or their followers.

Like so many others, our average family has felt the real-world pain of political acts. I only wish these “friends” would understand that. Even if they do not have empathy for our family or so many others who have been shattered by political ambition, they need to understand that any political party who would release unrepentant terrorists both Islamic and Marxist, who would cozy up to Marxist terrorist states and violence in our streets would do anything to anyone for power.

Jeez, even I figured that out in 1999.

The election is only two weeks away. We may not love or even like either candidate, but our vote is not for the person as much as it is for each other.  Do we want a president who is the party, that sees the American people not as individuals, but as groups, and uses its peoples’ lives and deaths for political gain?

No, we want a future where again the government steps out of our lives, fights against Marxist terrorists while respecting each of us as individuals as per the founding of this country.

That is why this average American is voting for Donald Trump.
